Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I send you my photos?

A: Just log-in to your e-mail as normal, create a new e-mail addressed to mail@repairmyphotos.co.uk and use the Attach button, or paper-clip icon, to add your photos. If you use an e-mail application such as Outlook Express then you can click the underlined e-mail addresses you see on our website (including the one above).  Please provide as much information as possible when describing what changes you'd like to see.

Q. I'm not sure what alterations would give the best results?

A. Don’t worry, send us your photos and we’ll decide on what elements need working on. Don’t forget, the single charge of just £5 covers all alteration work (sometimes less depending on work required). Once the photo is finished you will receive a ‘proof’ copy via e-mail for your review that you then only purchase if you are completely satisfied.

Q. My photograph isn’t a digital image, I only have a printed photograph, negative or slide. Can I send you those?

A. Absolutely. We will scan your print / negative / slide and work with the digital copy. Simply e-mail your requirement and we will notify you of the address to post your photograph to. Please also include a stamped addressed envelope so that we can return your print / negative / slide to you. Items can also be returned Recorded Delivery on an ‘at cost’ basis to you.

Q. The final image doesn't look like I wanted it to - what can I do?

A. Get in touch. If we have mis-interpreted your instructions we can discuss this and amend the photo. We keep your original photo, and work on a copy, so we can have another go at no additional cost to you - you would still only pay for a finished photo that you are happy with. Our goal is 100% customer satisfaction. That's why we don't charge a penny up front, and our customers are under no obligation to purchase the repaired / enhanced photo.

Q. Will my original photograph be changed forever?

A. No. If you send us a traditional printed photograph, negative or slide, we will only ever work on a copy, and you will therefore receive back your original photograph untouched.

Q. Are prints really offered ‘at cost’?

A. Yes. Repairmyphotos.co.uk use a well respected printing company in the UK, and will only charge you what we are charged. A 6x4 inch print for example currently costs 10p. Postage costs will be on top of this, however these are also at cost (currently £1.50 per order, not per print). See the ‘Ordering & costs’ page on this website for more information.

Q. Can I order additional prints of my images in time to come?

A. Yes. Your images are permanently stored on Repairmyphotos.co.uk’s secure servers. Additional prints can be ordered, at cost, at any time after the original order, whether it be 2 weeks or 5 years later.

Things to remember:

  • The higher the resolution of the original photo the better, therefore please send the highest resolution / lowest compression photo you have available.
  • Please provide as much detail as possible about the changes you would like to see.
  • Depending on the quality of the original photo, the actual enhancement may be limited. However we promise that the enhanced photo will be better than the original. Remember, you pay nothing unless you are entirely happy with the finished photo.
  • If you are scanning you own image to send to us, please scan at a minimum of 300dpi (dots per inch). If enlargements of the original are required then scan at a higher resolution.
